LOS ANGELES (The Trough) — In what officially marks the death of cinematic subtlety, boutique distribution house A24 has successfully distilled the human experience into a single, heavily kerned title card. The upcoming Kristoffer Borgli vehicle, starring Zendaya and Robert Pattinson, promises to guide audiences through profound trauma using the blunt-force instrument of literal dialogue.

The film centers around a gun-control advocate who previously planned a school shooting but was tragically beaten to the punch by a more punctual classmate. To ensure viewers understand the weight of this irony, the narrative leans aggressively on the actors simply announcing their emotional states to the camera.

"We felt that leaving subtext as subtext was frankly insulting to the modern viewer," said Julian Farnsworth, A24’s Director of Aggressive Typography and Somber Vibes. "When Zendaya looks directly into the lens, cries out the name of the film, and the screen cuts to black in a crisp, deeply mournful 24-point Garamond, that is cinema."

"The sheer audacity of having characters explicitly announce the thematic weight of their situation is a post-modern triumph," noted Dr. Elliot Gable, Chair of Vibe Studies at the Rhode Island Institute of Unearned Melancholy. "Why craft a delicate narrative when you can simply have Robert Pattinson scream the movie's title while wearing a bespoke cardigan?"

At press time, A24 executives were reportedly brainstorming their next prestige horror film, tentatively titled 'The Metaphor,' consisting entirely of a two-hour static shot of a sad woman aggressively whispering the word 'trauma.'
